Psychedelic flower
Q: What do you get when you paint with very runny, paint while listening to the Grateful Dead...?
A: Maybe something like this?
I call it "psychedelic flower" and I think it's a pretty fitting title. I quite like the piece. Done similarly like the previous, wild piece, except on burlap that was primed with black gesso. I combines housepaint, regular oil paint, loads of linseed oil and standoil, sand, wood shavings and coffee grounds into a concoction of color that grows on me more every time I look at it. Although it clearly was painted as a flower-like think, it also works well when hung sideways. The piece clearly shows the wrinkling effect on the paint that I have been experimenting with for a while now.
Other news: Apple just released the new iLife'08 and *finally* this version supports using a private domain name. I was planning to get my own domain for-like-ever and put my site somewhere that's closer related to my name than having a generic .mac web site. Expect my web site to move to a different URL before too long now!
